Gina Benson Cook, Centaur Farms.  Silver Creek, GA
5/2010 - 8/2010

..."Lisa participated in our reproduction program.  She received hands on experience in the following:  Imprinting foals, handling stallions, prepping AV, cleaning AV, cleaning mount, cleaning lab supplies, teasing mares, tracking cycles of mares, assisting vet, prepping mare for AI.
Lisa was the official handler for the stallions, mares and foals at their German Warmblood inspection.  Not only did she handle the stallions by presenting them in hand, she also put them through the jump chute at the inspection.
...Lisa's focus was mainly on stallions both in breeding and riding.  She rode several stallions and worked them on a daily basis while in training.  She is very competent as a stallion rider and handler.
Lisa is a very dedicated and responsible person...very hard worker and pays attention to detail and is sensitive to the needs of the horse.  I would highly recommend Lisa as a team player in the horse industry."

I am a riding student of Lisa Pembleton and write this letter of recommendation for the purpose of supporting her equestrian riding and training program.  I have found Lisa to be a gifted and versatile riding instructor.  As an older adult, I appreciate Lisa's flexible and respectful approach to my lessons.  Each time I ride under her direction, I learn how to be a more effective rider.  The lessons are consistently safe, interesting, and motivating.  I would recommend Lisa Pembleton as a riding instructor without reservation to anyone who is considering horseback riding lessons.

I would not hesitate to recommend Lisa as a horse trainer.  In a short period of time she was able to turn my unruly, unbroke horse into a well behaved citizen.  He was difficult to manage and control.  He is now working nicely on the ground and under saddle.  Lisa has done a great job with him.  She is kind and patient, yet persistent.  My horse was always in good spirits and always enjoyed his work.  With Lisa's calm demeanor he was able to understand her commands and was very willing to work.  My lessons were very productive.  Not only was Lisa able to train my horse, she was able to teach me to teach my horse.  In addition to her training ability her standards of care were excellent.  She monitored my horse to make sure he was always comfortable and happy.

2003- 11/2009

My name is Stacey Clahassey and I am the Chief Financial Officer of Mr. Joe's Farm, Inc.  I first met Lisa Pembleton in 2003.  She was working as an assistant for my veterinarian.  She has worked for me as my horse trainer for the past 2 1/2 years.  In addition to training my horse, she also works with me, instructing me how to work with the horse myself.  After a year of training, I started showing my horse and he has done well.  When Lisa first started with me, I knew nothing about training or showing horses.  Now I go into the show ring with confidence.
Lisa is friendly, reliable and loves animals, especially horses.  I like her non-agressive method of training and also appreciate her willingness to train the owner, as well as the animal.

I don't  really know what I was thinking, I wanted to be a cowboy and I thought it would be easy. I got a 3 1/2 yr Paint from a neighbor. He was unbroke and had been in a corral most of his life. I thought no problem, I can do this. I started to work with him, but it didn't go well. I would look at him, he would look at me and neither one of us knew what to do. That is when I met Lisa, boy was she heaven sent. She came to pick up my horse and that is when I knew she was the right trainer. She was professional, calm, caring, funny, knowledgeable, and boy was she patient.

When we started training, I believe the horse was the easy part for her, but I was a different story. That is where the patient part comes in; I was greener than the horse. She worked with me making sure I was safe and my horse would be safe. If I didn't get what she was asking me to do, she approached it in a different manner, always positive and encouraging. She allowed my whole family to be a part of the training, answering all of our questions, not only about training the horse, but also about caring for him. We got everything we asked for and more.

Lisa Pembleton very professional and truly a pleasure to work with. She is amazing. We highly recommend her as a horse trainer and for riding lessons.

Thank you Lisa for all your hard work and patients. We appreciate every thing you have done for us.

9/2007 - 4/2008

I have had the pleasure of working with Lisa Pembleton.  During that time she improved my riding ability while she skillfully took my purebred Arabian, Hot Stuff, from essentially unrideable to a very well trained horse that can be ridden by most.
I had my horse in training with four previous trainers.  Three were afraid of him and essentially had given up on him and the fourth had been thrown off on her head.  Lisa took Hot Stuff and essentially started with basic ground work, rebuilt the horse's confidence and started him under saddle without incident.  With every visit to Pembleton Farms I could see improvement in Hot Stuff.  It was obvious the horse was getting the appropriate training he needed.  I highly recommend Lisa Pembleton for starting a horse of any ability under saddle.
Lisa also takes very good care of the horses entrusted to her.  The horse always had clean water, and feed.  She arranged farrier care and the hooves were always well trimmed and shod.  The horse was always clean and well groomed.  There was never a reason to worry about my horse in Lisa's care.
Lisa improved my riding as well.  She coached me through my fears, and for the first time in my life I rode a horse bareback .  This enabled me to improve my balance and communication with the horse.  I can now canter confidently in an arena and out on trail.
In summary, Lisa is a very competent, hard working trainer/riding instructor who helped me and my horse become partners.  I am sure she can do the same for you.

UPDATE 6/7/08:

     Hi Lisa,
Hope all is well with you. These are tough economic times and I hope you are weathering them well.

I rode Hot Stuff in the round pen at a walk and trot. He broke into the canter once because of my miscue but we brought him right back down to the trot.
He was thinking the entire time. My perching of course was new to him. He at first rightfully thought I wanted him to go faster, but quickly he seemed to sort out the difference between my perching and the real deal.

Everyone who sees him is very impressed with your work. I constantly tell people if they have a horse to be trained they should send him to you.

No pictures yet.

Thank you again.

Roberta and Hot Stuff.

It was my good fortune that I picked up your card and called you.  From the first conversation I knew you would be the right person for training Lucy and Magic.  Lucy had two other trainers that I thought were good, but you have brought her to a new level in a short amount of time.  You have been thorough, kind and very reliable.  I never have to worry about my horse's safety or whether you were going to "show up".
Lucy is so much more responsive, respectful and trustworthy.  And I was able to watch it happen and know that it was all through consistency and kindness.
Thanks for a job well done!
